FRIDAY NOTE

The "8th Grade News" or Friday Note will be sent home in the Friday Folder at the end of each week.  If you missed it in the Friday Folder, it will also be sent via Fast Direct."

 

HOMEWORK POLICY

All homework is expected to be turned in on the day it is due.  However, it is possible for a student to turn in late work, but only one class day past the original due date and 10% will be deducted from the grade given on the assignment.  After that a zero will be given.  

 8TH GRADE CLASS SCHEDULE

Students spend the first half of the day rotating classes.  They will go to other classrooms for Science, Math, Language Arts, etc.  In the afternoon, the students will be in their homeroom for Spelling, U.S. History, Literature, and Health.  Click here to view a copy of this year's 8th grade schedule.  

8th GRADE CLASS COVENANT

Together, the students and I create a class covenant which serves as a set of rules or a class management system.  

STUDENT JOBS

A pair of students is assigned to do the classroom jobs each week.  A schedule is posted on the "Scoop" board in the back of the classroom and students are responsible for checking it to see when they are scheduled to work. 

TARDY POLICY

Students are to use the time between 8:00 AM and 8:10 AM to prepare for the day.  Students should gather all necessary supplies for their first class.  8th grade students are expected to be ready for the day and in their seats by the time the 8:10 bell rings.  At this time the teacher will begin recording the lunch count and attendance.  Students arriving after the 8:15 bell without a written or valid excuse will be marked tardy.  These students are also responsible to let the office and kitchen know of attendance and lunch count on their own.     

8TH GRADE TRIP

At the end of each school year (usually the end of May), the 8th grade class takes a trip.  This trip is part of the 8th grade curriculum and students are expected to go.  Students and parents are expected to sign a contract

8TH GRADE GRADUATION

Provided they have completed all of the necessary requirements, the 8th grade students will graduate from Trinity.  The graduation ceremony is usually held during one of the church services on the Sunday following the last day of school.
